Jaco Johannes Cilliers
Position: Director & Founder of Oryx Growth
Industry Experience: 20+ years
Jaco Cilliers founded Oryx Growth with a clear vision: to offer developers, landlords and industry partners a consultancy built on integrity, technical expertise and genuinely hands-on project leadership. His career reflects a steady progression through the built environment, shaped by a passion for purposeful development and strong client relationships.
He began his professional journey as a Town Planner, gaining a deep understanding of land use, development dynamics and municipal processes. These early foundations shaped his appreciation for long-term planning and the importance of guiding developments from a strong conceptual base.
Jaco later joined MSP Developments as a Development Manager, where he managed several large-scale residential projects across the Western Cape and Gauteng. This period strengthened his ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, navigate technical and regulatory complexities, and deliver high-quality developments in demanding environments.
In 2018, inspired by his experience and motivated to offer a more personal and flexible service approach, Jaco established Oryx Development Consult (trading as Oryx Growth). Since then, he has led the company as a specialised niche project and development management practice, working across residential estates, retail and commercial projects, hospitality upgrades and large-scale housing programmes.
Known for his calm leadership style, clarity in communication and strong technical grounding, Jaco remains actively involved in each project. His commitment to collaboration, transparency and well-executed development continues to shape Oryx Growth’s reputation and the successful projects delivered under its name.
Kabous Fouche
Position: Director – New Business Development & Project Management
Industry Experience: 21+ years
Kabous Fouché began his career as a Town Planner, where his interest in people, places and development first came together. In 2007, he joined MSP Developments as a Development Manager, overseeing large residential estates as well as commercial and retail centres. These early years helped shape his practical, relationship-driven approach to development — something that has become central to his leadership style.
In 2012, Kabous moved into the corporate retail sector when he joined the Rohloff Group as Development Executive. Here he combined his technical knowledge with his natural strength in networking and collaboration. Over more than a decade, he played a key role in expanding the KFC franchise footprint from 36 stores to 98 by 2025, guiding new business development, project management teams, facility management and asset management. This period cemented his passion for helping businesses grow through thoughtful strategy, strong partnerships and consistent execution.
Today, as a Director at Oryx Growth, Kabous leads the company’s New Business Development stream while supporting broader project management initiatives. He brings a grounded, people-focused perspective to the team, along with deep experience in expansion strategy and brand roll-out. His ability to connect opportunities, build trust and move projects forward continues to add meaningful value to Oryx Growth and its clients.
